Harrish calls for more jobs in manufacture for Grantham and Stamford
Harrish Bisnauthsing discusses the future of business in the region with David Bramwell, Operations Director, Quality Furniture.
This week Harrish has visited two engineering firms in Grantham, both of which have successfully weathered the economic storm. It is obvious that the Government must support manufacturing in the region; but as well as this they must encourage interrelationships between local firms.
For British manufacturing to succeed the focus should be on quality products and efficient production systems; such as 'one piece flow' and 'just in time'. As your local MP Harrish Bisnauthsing will do everything he can to encourage new manufacturing in the region and train employees for essential jobs in the manufacturing sector.

Local Manufacturers meet for Manufacturing Manifesto Launch
Friday 5th March 2010 saw the official launch of The Manufacturers' Organisation's Manufacturing Manifesto. The manifesto outlines the organisation's strategy to rebalance our economy by strengthening UK manufacturing. The Manufacturers' Organisation, also know as the EEF, calls for the next Government to provide a focused and consistent strategy for long term growth by encouraging investors, reforming the tax system to support the sector and prioritising resources for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics education.
At a presentation in Grantham the Liberal Democrat Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Grantham and Stamford, Harrish Bisnauthsing, met David Bramwell, the Operations Director of Quality Furniture, and Sue Kirby of the EEF to discuss plans to support local manufacturing businesses. Harrish said, "British manufacturing will benefit from the removal of Government red tape. Long term planning and improved physical and financial infrastructure will promote growth and support development of our region."

Grantham & Stamford - What are your voting choices?
At the last General Election in 2005 the people of Grantham and Stamford elected a Conservative Member of Parliament – Quentin Davies – to represent them.
On June 26th, 2007, the night before Gordon Brown became Prime Minister, Mr Davies defected to the Labour Party.
In the circumstances, it is perfectly justifiable for the electors of Grantham and Stamford to expect an explanation from their MP.
In a letter to the Conservative leader, David Cameron, Mr Davies made his reasons clear. He wrote:
Quite an indictment: but surely an MP who felt so strongly should have done the honourable thing and resigned and caused a by-election? Quentin Davies chose to stay as an MP regardless of the opinions of his constituents.
So who has been chosen to replace Quentin Davies as your new Conservative Party Candidate? Nick Boles a close associate of David Cameron, George Osborne, Rachel Whetstone and Ed Vaizey – an influential group of Conservatives often referred to as the ‘Notting Hill Set’
So the choices are as follows:

“Under your leadership the Conservative Party appears to me to have ceased collectively to believe in anything, or to stand for anything. It has no bedrock. It exists on shifting sands. A sense of mission has been replaced by a PR agenda.”He went on to accuse David Cameron of "superficiality, unreliability and an apparent lack of any clear convictions." Which he said ought to: "exclude you from the position of national leadership to which you aspire.”

So the choices are as follows:
- Vote for your Local Liberal Democrat Candidate Harrish Bisnauthsing who lives and works in the constituency, is a Town councillor and ex-Mayor of Stamford and serves on the SKDC.
- Or vote for another Conservative candidate Nick Boles, who is closely associated with David Cameron and the views that caused the last Tory candidate to defect to the Labour Party.
