Local Manufacturers meet for Manufacturing Manifesto Launch

Friday 5th March 2010 saw the official launch of The Manufacturers' Organisation's Manufacturing Manifesto. The manifesto outlines the organisation's strategy to rebalance our economy by strengthening UK manufacturing. The Manufacturers' Organisation, also know as the EEF, calls for the next Government to provide a focused and consistent strategy for long term growth by encouraging investors, reforming the tax system to support the sector and prioritising resources for Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics education.

At a presentation in Grantham the Liberal Democrat Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Grantham and Stamford, Harrish Bisnauthsing, met David Bramwell, the Operations Director of Quality Furniture, and Sue Kirby of  the EEF to discuss plans to support local manufacturing businesses. Harrish said, "British manufacturing will benefit from the removal of Government red tape. Long term planning and improved physical and financial infrastructure will promote growth and support development of our region."
